September 16th 2008
I don't have a great excuse for taking so long to blog except that: school started Aug 13th for all the kids, JT started high school, soccer for Sarah starting up again, Joey started tyquando (i know i spelled it wrong), Jackson started soccer and much more. All the kids are in school now, at 3 different schools, and Jacks is half day kindergarten. I have posted some pictures of the first day of school. You can tell which of my children love it and which one would rather be at home looking for lizards and frogs. Ministry is up and going again after a nice family vacation. We work with Junior high kids and meet on wednesdays nights at our house. We have about 40 kids that come and we have a great time playing, singing, teaching and talking with the kids. I started D-group again, it's small group discipleship with 5 single women this fall. I am exciting about it and look forward to getting to know each of them. Jon is busy trying to build his business with his brother Nate. By the way, it's Jack's 6th birthday today. I will post pictures after his party tonight.

Family Trip to Lake Chelan 2008
We've returned from Chelan, the Oregon Coast, the Redwoods, Northern California and Morro Bay. It was a tremendous time this year in Chelan with most of the Stead's, although we wish more could have come. Mom Stead taught us from Revelations and the seven churches. She had much to offer since visiting Turkey earlier this year with Auntie Maryln. Instead of baseball it was volleyball with the Canadians (friends we met years past that are there the same time we are). . No more nightly visits to Alpenhorn, the camp store has replaced it. Joy, who owns the store, was very gracious this year and treated us often at night to our second round of ice cream. The kids are there all day getting candy and ice cream. That is the highlight for all of them. They save their money all year to spend it at the candy shop. We traveled the coast back home, stopping first in Leavenworth, Wa., then onto Tillamook, Or, onto Brookings, OR, the Redwoods and then finally at Morro Bay, home. We stopped to visit my Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle in Santa Rosa while passing through. It was great to see where Grandma Nona lives and to hug her. We miss seeing her as she is now a widow. It was a refreshing time away and we were blessed to have John and Betsy decide to come to California to enjoy the beaches. We are thankful to have family that love the Lord and together encourage one another. Enjoy the pics of our trip.
